We've had the email and letter scams, now fraudsters are targeting us by phone text messages. We all receive thousands of spam mails just like the sms, it wasn't worth a split-second thought. But, I saw it in a different angle.
We have about 300,000 population here in the Maldives. A staggering 360,000 (yes, it is) mobile phone subscribers are registered here, who are spread across 200~300 islands(including industrial islands). Now imagine the number of victims who may possibly fall for this message. This is the newest method for fraud across the world that has started recently.
It's time for service providers (Dhiraagu & Wataniya) to start educating their "beloved" customers about these sort of scams and do a little more ethical business than promoting secondary cell numbers for us. My advice, delete it as soon as u receive it.
Think about this!
